Taken as your assessable income for the year.
Earned income relief at this age: S$1,000. Use your age on 31 December of the year you earned the income.
Add up the other reliefs you claim, such as CPF relief for employees, parent relief and child relief. Leave out earned income relief, CPF cash top-up relief and SRS: they are worked out from your age and what you enter here. Leaving this at zero overstates your tax.
A cash top-up here goes into your Special Account. Relief counted: S$0, up to S$8,000.
Parents, grandparents, a spouse or siblings, in all. Relief counted: S$0, up to S$8,000. For a spouse or sibling it needs their income last year to have been no more than S$8,000, unless they have a disability.
Counts up to S$15,300 a year for your residency.
An SRS contribution could save about S$1,071 in tax.
That is the difference between S$3,280 and S$2,209 a year at today's rates, before any tax on later SRS withdrawals.
Whether SRS suits you depends on your wider plans. Eugene can talk it through.

Assumptions and sources
Illustration only, not financial advice. This estimates income tax for tax residents, using the rates IRAS gives from the 2024 Year of Assessment onwards, for income earned in 2025 (Year of Assessment 2026). It is an estimate, not a tax filing.
Your yearly income is taken as your assessable income, and also as your earned income. Other reliefs are entered as one total, and leaving it at zero overstates both your tax and the saving. No Personal Income Tax Rebate is modelled, and neither is the tax on later SRS withdrawals.
Earned income relief is worked out from your age on 31 December of the year you earned the income: S$1,000 below 55, S$6,000 from 55 to 59 and S$8,000 from 60, and never more than your earned income. The higher relief for a permanent disability is not modelled.
CPF cash top-up relief is for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and only for cash top-ups, not for money moved from your own CPF accounts. It is up to S$8,000 for top-ups to your own account and a separate S$8,000 for family members. Your own top-up goes to your Special Account below 55 and to your Retirement Account from 55. The relief also depends on how much room the account has under the Full Retirement Sum, and on a spouse’s or sibling’s income. This calculator checks neither, so it may show more relief than you would get. All your reliefs together, including this one, are capped at S$80,000 a year.
Choose self-employed to add compulsory MediSave. A self-employed Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident with a net trade income above S$6,000 must contribute, by age on 1 January and net trade income, up to a yearly maximum, and gets tax relief on all of it. This calculator estimates it at the 2025 rates, takes your age on 1 January as one year less than your age on 31 December, and uses the same income for the contribution as for the tax, although IRAS bases the contribution on an earlier year’s income.
A voluntary CPF contribution to your three accounts earns relief up to the lowest of 37% of your net trade income and S$37,740, each less your compulsory MediSave, and nothing if your compulsory MediSave is already more than 37% of your net trade income. It is not refunded, and its relief counts towards the S$80,000 cap.
Not modelled: a person who is both an employee and self-employed, platform workers and government pensioners.
Optimize my tax relief fills the routes open to you, in a stated order, up to the point where more relief would save nothing: either your reliefs reach the S$80,000 cap, or your chargeable income reaches the first S$20,000, which is taxed at 0%. It works out tax relief only. It cannot know how much room your CPF accounts have under the Full Retirement Sum, whether a family member’s income qualifies, or whether you can spare the cash.
Nothing you enter is sent anywhere or stored.
